A brief History

  • 1996

     

    Founding

    When Mr. Shrum decided to go into the practice of entertainment law full time, he opened the Arts+Entertainment Law Group in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

  • 1997

     

    Moved to Music City

    A few years after surviving in the City of Brotherly love, Mr. Shrum decided to move back to his birth state of Tennessee and hang a shingle in Nashville, Tennessee, Music City U.S.A.  There, he joined the professional association of lawyers, Harris, Martin, Jones, Shrum, Bradford & Wommack, P.A. on historic Music Row.

  • 2006

     

    Shrum & Associates is born

    In 2006, Mr. Shrum struck out on his own again, forming the first iteration of Shrum & Associates.  The firm moved downtown to 2nd Avenue, next door to Nashville’s famous “Bat Building.”

  • 2019

     

    Opened second location in Franklin

    By this time, Shrum & Associates had relocated to 16th Avenue, returning to Music Row in Nashville, and coinciding with this move, opened a second location on Main Street in the flourishing community of Franklin, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville located in Williamson County.

  • 2020

     

    Shrum & Hicks merge

    In 2021, Mr. Shrum merged with an old entertainment lawyer colleague and friend, J. Rush Hicks, to form Shrum Hicks & Associates, P.C.
